visible face of Jesus Christ, God the Father
"I came forth from the mouth of and I covered the earth like mist ... Before the centuries, from the very beginning, he created me ... I put the roots in the midst of a glorious people ...». The first reading for this Sunday is one of the great praise of the divine wisdom: it is identified by a part with the Word of God personified, the other with the Divine Spirit that hovered over the primordial waters. The prologue of John has a remarkably similar pattern: Jesus is called the Word, the Word, as the final revelation of the Father. And the Word, for John, precisely evokes the memory of the divine word of the Old Testament, the Word finds its perfection in Jesus, for He is the Word of God made flesh for the life of the world.
The second reading is made from the innate with which Paul begins the letter to the Christians of Ephesus. God has predestined us to be his children through the work of Jesus we ask him "a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him."
We are facing a large triptych Scripture: with solemn tones celebrate the intervention of God the Father in human history in the person proclaimed in the Old Testament, the Word is the Word of God who became flesh and pitched his tent among us in him "God has blessed us with every blessing ...».
It is the Word incarnate
Jesus is the Word of God can not be a word that makes no sense. He is all words and word of all. God had revealed through his eternal power of creation, had sent His prophets, His messengers, but still remained full of mystery, inscrutable, invisible, hidden behind the principalities and powers behind the troubles and anxieties. At one point, God has revealed, spoke clearly and distinctly. This was in Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus is the word that broke the relative silence of God The content of this Word is God. A God different from what people thought: God is a Trinity of love, is a merciful Father who loves man and wants him to safety. Jesus "to all believers indicates the path of truth" (oraz. over the gifts), and came to reveal the God that man each time waiting and calling, "... light of believers ... revealed to all peoples in the splendor of your truth "(Collect).
God is no longer needed?
For many today, this "word" falls on deaf ears. God is no longer part of our habits. Today, its existence is questioned. Atheism is not only the problem of a few: it involves an increasing number of men, becoming a phenomenon of civilization. "God does not do anything," is the claim easier. In fact, God does not exist to "serve" to anything, as many still think, God is not the desperate medical cases or an insurance lien on aspirations or religious pilgrimage, or an excuse to explain what the man does not understand, or can not do.
The God of Jesus Christ is not a kind of tyrant, benevolent or angry, as appropriate, involved in the course of events arbitrarily to arrest or some other change. Believing in a God like that, it sat in the anteroom of atheism.
We need God's not easy to analyze the complex problem dell'irreligiosità modern because it presents itself as a homogeneous whole and also its roots often nell'inafferrabilità of individual consciousness. There are many who give that responsibility all this in broad spheres of Christianity itself that a certain wrong attitudes and absenteeism they would favor the spread. The basis of the phenomenon of religious skepticism and atheism today there is often ignorance of the authentic Christian message. For this reason the Church has reached out to a meeting for atheists fair and sincere dialogue.
We forget that the man in all his spiritual being, that is, in its supreme right to know and love, is related to God, is done for Him, and every victory of the human spirit in him increases anxiety, and kindles the desire to go further, to reach the ocean of being and life, the full truth, which alone gives bliss. Take God as the search term, to which man is inherently directed, means to mortify the man himself. The so-called "death of God" is resolved in the man's death. And then a first duty takes us: to enjoy the knowledge of God, and second, to seek, to seek him passionately, where, how and when he leaves to meet.
The Lord gives life to his body in the Spirit
From the treatise On the Holy Spirit by Saint Basil, Bishop
(Ch. 26, 61. 64, PG 32, 179-182. 186)
one who no longer lives more after the flesh but is guided by the Spirit of God, it is called the Son of God and becoming conformed to the image of the only begotten Son, that is spiritual.
As in a healthy eye is the ability to see, so that the soul has this purity is the force acting of the Spirit. How the thought of our minds now remains unspoken in the hearts, but now it is expressed by the word, so the Holy Spirit testifies in the intimate hours with our spirit and our hearts cry, "Abba, Father" (Gal 4 6), but now speaks to us, as Scripture says: You did not speak, but speaking through you the Spirit of the Father (cf. Mt 10, 20). In addition to all the Spirit distributes his gifts is the All that is found in all parties. All because we are members one of another, and we have gifts that differ according to the grace of God communicated to us. Thus, "The eye can not say to the hand I did not need you, nor the head to toe I need you" (1 Cor 12, 21). All members with the complete body of Christ in the unity of the Spirit and according to the gifts you make, as necessary, useful to each other. God has arranged the organs in the body, each according to his will. The parties are so full of mutual concern, according to the spiritual communion of love. Therefore, "if one member suffers, all suffer together with others, and if one member is honored, all rejoice together with him "(1 Cor 12, 26). And how the parts are in everything, so we are all in the Spirit, as all in one body we have been baptized in the Spirit.
As the Father becomes visible in the Son, so the Son is made present in the Spirit. So the worship in the Spirit means an activity of our soul, carried out in broad daylight. It is learned from the words spoken to the Samaritan woman. It fact, according to the misconception of his people, he thought that we should worship in a particular place, but the Lord, making changing idea, he said, must worship in Spirit and in Truth (cf. Jn 4, 23), clearly defining himself "the Truth." So the way how we
worship the Son, as that worship the image of Him who is God and Father, so also are we to worship in the Spirit, to worship as one who expresses in himself the divine essence of the Lord God
Rightly, then, that in the Spirit enlightens us we see the splendor of the glory of God Through the seal impressions go up and one to whom belongs the stamp and seal and in which one or the other what they are exactly alike.
