Mary gives the world's eighth
Christ our peace of Christmas is the feast of "Mary, Mother of God." In truth, the Bible readings emphasize the "son of Mary 'and' Name of the Lord "instead of Mary.
fact the old "priestly blessing" is punctuated by the name of the Lord, repeated at the beginning of each verse (first reading) the text of St. Paul emphasizes the work of liberation and salvation brought by Christ, which is set the figure of Mary, through whom the Son of God could come into the world as a man (second reading), the Gospel ends with the naming of Jesus, while Mary takes part in silence to the mystery of his son born of this God
This attention to the prevailing "Son" does not reduce the role of Mother, Mother Mary is totally because it was a total relationship with Christ, therefore honoring her is the most glorified Son. The title "Mother of God" emphasizes the mission of Mary in salvation history: the mission that lies at the heart of worship and devotion of the Christian people, in fact, Mary did not receive the gift of God in itself, but to bring the world "in fruitful virginity of Mary (you, O God) have given to men the blessings of eternal salvation" (Collect).
Mother of God - Mother of man
The etymological meaning of the name Jesus, "God saves", introduces us fully into the mystery of Christ's incarnation at birth, from circumcision to the completion of the paschal death and resurrection, Jesus is around the His being the perfect blessing of God, is the gift of salvation and peace for all men in His name we are saved (cf. Acts 2:21; Rom 10:13). Now this offer of salvation comes from Maria and she participates in the people of God as a time to the shepherds. Mary gave birth to the Son of God, continues to participate in the divine life to men. For this is considered the mother of every human life that is born of God, and together they proclaimed and invoked as "Mother of the Church (cf. LG 53.60-65, Paul VI, 21.11-1964; Prayer after Communion). With
East, we also honor 'Mania ever Virgin, Blessed Mother of God, proclaimed by the Council of Ephesus, for Christ ... was recognized, in the true sense proper, the Son of God and Son of Man "(UR 15).
"Works and Days in His Peace
And in the name of Mary, Mother of God and Mother of men, which since 1967 is being celebrated all over the world" peace day delta. " Peace, in the biblical sense, is the messianic gift par excellence, is the salvation brought by Jesus is our peace and reconciliation with God Peace is a human value to achieve social and political, but its roots the mystery of Christ (cf. GS, chap. V).
Faith in Christ, "the author of salvation and the principle of unity and peace" (LG 9), it is clear that the Christian takes part in the efforts of humanity for world peace. The peace of Christ is not different from the peace of man: there is simply "peace" and worth spending one's life for his ongoing research. The Magisterium of the Church has not ceased to attract attention to the urgent need to make peace a actual size of human coexistence. It continues to renew the message of peace that is resting on truth, justice, love and freedom, "the four pillars of the house of peace" open to all (John XXIII, 11/04/1963).
Open your eyes to visions of peace!
"And then our message reaches its highest point: never against each others! If you want to be brothers, drop the weapons from your hands. You can not love with offensive weapons in their hands "(Paul VI, Address to the UN, 04/10/1965).
"Confronted at the difficult task of peace, are not enough words ... E 'need to penetrate the true spirit of peace ... Parents and teachers, help children and young people to experience peace in the thousands of daily actions ... Young people, be the peacemakers! ... Men engaged in work and social life, often difficult for you to achieve peace. No peace without justice and freedom, without a valiant effort to promote both of them ... Politicians, open new doors to peace! Do everything in your power to override the voice of dialogue on the force ... Do gestures of peace, even daring ... then patiently weave the plot political, economic and cultural life of peace ... The work for peace, inspired by love that never fades, will bear fruit. Peace will be the last word of history "(Pope John Paul II, 21.12.1978).
The Word took on human nature from Mary
From "Letters" of St. Athanasius, bishop (For Epitetto 5-9; PG 26.1058. 1062-1066)
The Word of God, as says the ' Apostle, "the seed of Abraham cares. So had to make very similar to the brethren "(Heb 2, 16. 17) and take a body similar to ours. This is why Mary had its existence in the world, because Christ took it from her body and offered as his own, for us.
So when the Scripture speaks of the birth of Christ says: "She wrapped him in swaddling clothes" (Lk 2, 7). For this was said blessed are the breasts that nursed. When the mother gave birth to the Savior, he was offered in sacrifice.
Gabriel gave to Mary the news with caution and discretion. But he simply did not say who will be born in you, because you do not think of a foreign body in her, but, to you (cf. Lk 1, 35), because she knew that he who gave the world had originated from her .
The Word recruited him what was ours, came up as a sacrifice and destroyed him with death. Then we dressed her condition, as the Apostle says: You have this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality (cf. 1 Cor 15, 53).
However, this is not a myth, as some are saying. Far be it from us, such a thought. Our Saviour was indeed a man and what was the salvation of all mankind. In no way our salvation can be said fictitious. He saved the whole man, body and soul. Salvation has been made of the same Word.
truly human nature was born of Mary, according to the Scriptures, and real, that human was the body of the Lord's true, because
completely identical to ours, because Mary is our sister, since we all originated in Adam.
What we read in John, "the Word became flesh" (Jn 1, 14), still has this meaning, as it is interpreted as other similar words.
is written in Paul: Christ became a curse for us (cf. Gal 3, 13). The man in this intimate union of the Word received an enormous wealth: the condition of death became immortal when he was linked to physical life, became a partner in the Spirit, even if made of earth, has entered the kingdom of heaven. Although Word has
took a mortal body from Mary, the Trinity itself has remained in what was, without a sort of additions or subtractions. E 'remained
absolute perfection: Trinity and only deity. And so the Church proclaims in one God the Father and the Word.
